From conference coordinator Kathy
Hello from SiWC Central!
Spring has definitely sprung here on the west coast, with blossoms blossoming, flowers blooming, and exactly the right sort of bright sun/torrential rain combo in the forecast to make grass grow so fast you can almost see it happening while you watch. Spring also means our SiWC writing contest is open to entries, and that we're halfway to fall and this year's conference.
Presenter Roster
We're thrilled to share this year's SiWC presenter roster, up now at
https://www.siwc.ca/presenters/. This year, we have a whole bunch of new people joining us, as well as conference regulars and some old friends who haven't been in awhile.
Among the new presenters is our first virtual presenter Zooming in from India! Harini Nagendra will be getting up awfully early in the morning to share her time with us.
Registration
This year's registration rates are up on our website at
https://www.siwc.ca/registration/. As ever, our prices are set at a break-even level based on selling out the conference.
This year, to save our American friends from doing the math, we've posted a ballpark USD price - an actual conversion from an actual day earlier this year - to give you an idea what the conference will cost you. This price is subject to currency fluctuations and whatever your credit card charges you for CAD-USD conversion on registration day, but we hope having an approximate sense of what the numbers look like in USD wil help you plan.
Registration for SiWC 2024 opens in a little less than two months, on Wednesday, June 5, at noon Pacific. Mark your calendars for that, and this year's conference, which will once again be a hybrid event with in-person and online options. The conference will run October 25-27, 2024, with pre-conference virtual master classes on the 23rd and in-person and livestreamed master classes on the 24th.
Hotel
The conference hotel, the Sheraton Guildford, is filling up quickly. We strongly recommend booking your hotel room before registration opens, as the hotel often sells out by then. Use the group link here to book your room using conference rates:
