SiWC grew out of creative writing classes offered by the school district of Surrey continuing education, and continues to encourage, motivate, and inspire writers of all genres and abilities by providing a workshop-based conference conducted by experienced, qualified presenters. How does my Sponsorship help?

You may not be aware the conference runs as a not-for-profit, cost-recovery event. Every year, the conference features more than 70 workshops, panels and special events conducted by world-class, best-selling authors and industry professionals. Generally, we draw more than 700 delegates, presenters and volunteers. Like all Canadian Arts groups, funding for us is always a struggle. 

We are a fiscally responsible organization, and we plan our event according to a strict budget but are finding the rising costs associated with hosting almost insurmountable. Your sponsorship would ease financial pressure and allow us to expand on ideas for the future, and avoid passing on increase in venue and supply costs to our ticketed attendees. 

 

How do I support SiWC?

There are three ways to support SiWC as a Sponsor:

1. You can become a General Sponsor

Gift any amount of money to the conference, without specifying how you would like your donation to be used. With your contribution you will contribute to the literary landscape within our year-round writing community, while assisting the conference to help us present the best possible event.

 

2. Inquire about Sponsoring a Specific Area of the Conference

Choose to support a specific area of the conference, and name a room, or host an information booth. Specific sponsorship is available in the Classic, Best Seller and Limited Edition donation ranges and can include (but are not limited to):

  • Night Owl Activities
  • Hospitality Suite 
  • Volunteer Suite
  • Quiet Writing Room 
  • Workshop Room 
  • Pitch and Blue Pencil Room
  • Banquets

 

3. In Kind Sponsorships

Businesses can agree to provide goods and/or services (value-in-kind) instead of cash as part of a sponsorship or partnership. Our in-kind partners offer their valuable services at no cost, helping us to deliver a world-class writing event year after year. In kind sponsorship receives recognition based on the value of the sponsorship,
