We are re-imagining SiWC for 2020 due to Covid-19. So…when October rolls around, please join us for our virtual writers’ conference: SiWC at Home!
Our team is hard at work to bring this vision into focus, but here’s what we know so far:
– The event will be held on the same dates (October 22-October 25) in lieu of our in-person conference. (If you’ve already booked your flights, please don’t forget to cancel them. The hotel will automatically cancel hotel rooms booked with the SiWC group rate and will confirm via email that your booking has been cancelled.)
– We are working on offering virtual master classes and workshops, so get excited!
– Registration will likely be a little postponed, but it WILL happen. In the midst of all the chaos, we want more than anything for this conference to be affordable for everyone, so we are working hard to make sure that this year’s registration fees reflect that.
– Our writing contest is continuing unchanged and is already open for entries. Get writing!
You’re our family, and we won’t let you down. SiWC lives on! #thisdaywewrite #SiWC20
Please stay tuned for more details (coming soon).

Hi
This is both disappointing and exciting, good for you. Will you be able to implement the talk to an agent or talk to a writer sessions? It might be a scheduling issue but it seems to me that using Zoom, Skype, Google hangouts, etc. it might still be possible. People would need to submit their one pagers (or whatever you decide would be appropriate) ahead of time (like a month or so) but I hope it can be done. Thanks again for keeping the conference alive.

Hi Bill, We won’t be doing pitch and blue pencil this year, but are looking at ways to make sure there are social opportunities with other writers.
